DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

With an incredible majority of the adult population of India afflicted with periodontal disease and the increasing incidence of dental caries among the young, the crying need of the hour is qualified manpower in the oral healthcare sector. Not only the dental caries or periodontal diseases are of patient's concern but also aesthetic considerations are gaining importance day by day which may even some time require surgical corrections. Jaw neoplasms, maxillofacial injuries, modern prosthetic rehabilitations, correction of occlusional discrepancies etc., are of prime importance in the field of dentistry. Early detection and prevention of oral pre-cancer and cancer by dental surgeons becomes very much necessary too.

Students and patients from the eastern region is being benefitted from this massive dental institutional set up by the JIS Group Educational Initiatives. The Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences & Research (GNIDSR) aims to be a major research centre in this region and a Centre of Excellence. Plans are on to further expand the dental teaching facility and research base for higher education. Already numerous patients are availing treatment high quality dental at a very low cost through the state-of-the-art Out Patient Department (OPD) of GNIDSR.

With a robust infrastructure and highly experienced faculty, GNIDSR is becoming a major dental education centre in the eastern India besides churning out qualified doctors to address the country's grim dental health care scenario.

GNIDSR, developed as an Integrated Dental Institutional Complex, will house a dental hospital, research centre, outpatient department and dental college, with several speciality units.
